Discover Open Payments, the API standard in the Interledger tech stack, that allows financial service providers like wallets, banks, or mobile money platforms to expose their payment functionality in a uniform way to e-commerce apps.
Developers can use Open Payments to initiate and authorize payments. It's one API that enables the most common digital payments use cases and hides the unnecessary bespoke complexities of local payment methods. It simplifies complex financial operations into a predictable, modular process.

Thirty days of hands-on, self-paced learning to take you from knowing that Open Payments exists to running your first transaction running in the test environment. The program includes live talks and sessions throughout the month. The time commitment is flexible, though we recommend a minimum of 6 to 10 hours total over the course of the month. It’s completely free and starts on June 1.

By the end of the month you'll have:
First transaction
You'll complete your first transaction in the test environment. You won't just read how it works, you'll make it work.

Work alongside a global community of developers who are tackling the same payment challenges as you.

Direct access to the team
Join live Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions and have your questions answered by the team that build Open Payments
Week 1
Foundations
You'll get to know the Open Payments standard and what makes it different from existing payments infrastructure.
Week 2
Core Architecture and your first (test) transaction.
You'll dig into wallet addresses, the core API architecture, and GNAP-based authorization. You'll also make your first test transaction using the Test Boutique, and join a live hands-on workshop with Max from the Open Payments team.
Week 3
Use cases and deep dives.
You'll take on the Use Cases challenge and join a Tech AMA to go deeper on the standard with the team.
Week 4
Community and next steps.
We'll close out the month with a community highlights session showcasing submitted use cases. If the Learning Month has sparked an idea, this is also when we'd encourage you to finalize your application for the Open Payments Accelerator Grant.
By the end of the month you'll go from understanding the API flow to completing your first transaction in the test environment.

This grant offers $50,000 USD for teams ready to take an early-stage idea and build it into a proof of concept, using the Open Payments standard. We're looking for new and innovative ideas that show how Open Payments could improve the way people access and use financial services.
